Operational orchestration is coordinating a business process across systems and people so work has an owner, a next step, and a record—especially when the process does not live in a single application.

Orchestration here means the process runtime: triggers, branches, waits, human steps, integration calls, and operational records. It is not a synonym for an iPaaS mapper or a chatbot.
An operational runtime (sometimes called a governed operations runtime) is the software that actually executes that orchestration under policy.
Why field sync is not enough
